Welcome Chef Lindsay Porter

The Common is thrilled to announce our collaboration with Chef Lindsay Porter.

Born and Raised in St Albert, Executive Chef Lindsay Porter’s focus has always been on the culinary world, even as a child. This passion for the culinary arts reflects through her re-designed menu at The Common “From the colours, to the flavors, to the textures, this menu really is my form of expression. I wanted to have fun with it, so I took several traditional recipes, and added my personality to them.”

Lindsay has competed on Food Network on Guys Grocery Games twice, Firemasters and most recently Beat Bobby Flay. Chef Porter has also filmed commercials for Knorr through Vice recently in April of 2018 in Amsterdam and is a bronze medalist at the prestigious Gold Medal Plates in Edmonton.

Chef Porter graduated in 2006 after completing a two-year, fulltime culinary course. After graduating, she travelled to Europe for two months and explored the culinary world of Italy, Switzerland, France, Greece, Germany and the Netherlands. Once home, she joined Fantasyland Hotel as a sous chef for 4 years before becoming the executive chef at 4th and Vine; she began taking part in various competitions, such as the Chaine des Rotisseurs Junior Commis Competition, placing first in the regionals twice and travelling to Vancouver.

Volunteering with many local charities such as Wellspring, and Mount Royal cookoff Chef Porter loves to get involved in local organizations to support the local community.
